MPMS #116664
SR-0034-062 | Resurfacing & Overlay
District 8 — Cumberland County, PA
2.50 Miles
Middlesex Twp.
Construction Support & Inspection
Completed 2025
Project Overview
MPMS 116664 rehabilitated approximately 2.50 miles of SR 0034 (Spring Road) from SR 0944 (Enola Road) to SR 1007 (Sunnyside Drive) in Middlesex Township. Work was performed to restore pavement performance, improve safety features, and extend service life along this heavily traveled corridor.
Construction Scope
Construction activities included asphalt milling and resurfacing, structural concrete repairs, and moment slab installation. Tie-bar holes were drilled and epoxied in accordance with PennDOT specifications, and reinforcement placement was inspected prior to concrete placement.
Barrier forms were constructed and inspected to verify reinforcement alignment, spacing, and embedment prior to pour operations. Guide rail systems were upgraded with new end treatments to improve roadside safety performance.
Full-depth pavement patching was completed where deterioration extended through the slab section, with removal and replacement performed under strict dimensional and material tolerances.
Accessibility, Traffic & Quality Controls
Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) operations were coordinated to maintain mobility and work-zone safety. Concrete placement, curing procedures, and reinforcement inspection were documented in accordance with PennDOT standards.
Quality assurance oversight included verification of tie-bar depth and spacing, patch geometry, curing compliance, and guide rail installation standards.

ECMS 101786
SR-0100-M89 | Resurfacing & Overlay
District 5 — Berks County, PA
5.82 Miles
Colebrookdale Twp. • Washington Twp. • Bally Boro.
Construction Support & Inspection
Completed 2025
The project rehabilitated 5.82 miles of roadway in Berks County through milling, targeted patching, and placement of new Superpave asphalt courses. Work included milling existing pavement, performing patching repairs, and placement of leveling and wearing courses to restore ride quality and structural performance.
Bridge deck preparation included application of a Mel-Dor membrane prior to paving to ensure proper waterproofing and long-term durability. The final phase of the project included installation of new guiderail systems throughout the corridor to enhance roadway safety.

ECMS 119756
SR-3222-M89 | Resurfacing & Overlay
District 5 — Berks County, PA
2.20 Miles
Cumru Twp. • City of Reading
Construction Support & Inspection
Completed 2025
Project Overview
ECMS 119756 rehabilitated approximately 2.20 miles of SR 3222 through Cumru Township and the City of Reading. Work was performed in both northbound and southbound directions to restore pavement performance, improve safety, and extend roadway service life.
Construction Scope
Construction activities included 2-inch milling of existing asphalt pavement, variable-depth milling at curb lines, and placement of Superpave asphalt scratch and wearing courses to improve ride quality and skid resistance.
Deteriorated pavement areas were addressed with 13-inch Type A accelerated concrete patches. Longitudinal and transverse joints were cleaned and sealed to enhance durability and extend pavement life.
Accessibility, Traffic & Quality Controls
ADA-compliant upgrades included new concrete sidewalks, detectable warning surfaces, and revised curb ramps in accordance with PennDOT standards.
Pavement markings were refreshed using waterborne paint and thermoplastic legends. Loop detectors were installed at designated intersections to improve signal responsiveness.
Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) operations were coordinated to maintain mobility and safety throughout construction. Electronic ticketing (e-Ticketing) was implemented for asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials to support real-time tracking and documentation.
Environmental protection measures, including water pollution controls, were implemented to ensure regulatory compliance.
